What ShotPorter is

ShotPorter is a macOS app that offloads photos and videos from memory cards, verifies every copy with checksums, and sorts the files by your rules. It's sold as a one-time purchase for US$49, plus any tax that applies where you live. No subscription, no recurring charges.

Who you're buying from

Purchases are processed by Stripe, acting as the merchant of record. That means Stripe is legally the seller of your order, handles your payment and any applicable tax, and Stripe's own consumer terms apply to the purchase itself. You can read them at stripe.com/legal/consumer.

ShotPorter — the app, the license, and the support behind it — comes from us, the developer.

The free trial

The trial lasts 30 days and includes every feature — nothing held back. Starting it needs no payment details, no card — just your email. If you decide to keep ShotPorter afterward, that's when we ask for payment, and even then you're covered by our 14-day money-back guarantee. One trial per person and per device; please don't try to reset it, and we won't have to care.

Your license

When you buy ShotPorter, you get a license to use it — personally or for your business — on up to 3 Macs that you own or control.

• It's perpetual. The versions covered by your purchase keep working for as long as you want to run them. There's no clock on your license.
• Updates are currently free. If that ever changes for some future major version, your existing license and its versions keep working exactly as before.

License keys

Your license key is yours. Please don't publish it, share it beyond your own 3 Macs, or resell it.

We may revoke a key if the purchase behind it is refunded or charged back, or if the key gets publicly leaked. Revoking means the app stops accepting that key — nothing is deleted from your Mac, and your files are never touched.

What ShotPorter must not be relied on for

Here's the honest part, and it matters.

ShotPorter is built so that a photo or video is never deleted before a verified copy exists — the only exception is file types you've classified as junk, which are discarded without copying, and only if you've turned that on. That design promise is real and we take it seriously. But no software — ours included — can replace your own backups. Disks fail, Macs get stolen, coffee gets spilled. ShotPorter moves your files safely from card to disk; keeping your archive alive after that is, and stays, your responsibility.

Don't make ShotPorter the only thing standing between your work and disaster. Keep backups.

Warranty and liability

ShotPorter is provided "as is". We work hard to make it reliable, but we can't promise it will be free of bugs or fit every workflow, and we make no warranties beyond what the law requires.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising out of ShotPorter or these terms is capped at what you paid for it — US$49. We're not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits, lost bookings, or lost data, where the law lets us exclude them.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights that consumer law in your country gives you and doesn't let us change.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, unless the consumer law of your own country says otherwise and takes precedence.

Third-party software

ShotPorter includes ExifTool by Phil Harvey (exiftool.org), used under the Artistic License.
